Summertime 'Ski in, Ski out' Concerts by the Lake
JazzTrax Newest Festival Site is a spectacular Lakeside Lawn at the Marina Resort in the Village of Big Bear Lake. It is the 5th annual JazzTrax Summer Music Festival in the San Bernardino Mountains, above Southern California, but the first to be held Right On the Lake. So much so that plans are being laid for the Stars of Smooth Jazz to perform On a Floating Stage on top Big Bear Lake while the audience sits alongside on the shoreline.
Big Bear Lake is where the Hollywood Stars of old would sneak away to. Just two hours from downtown Los Angeles, just 45 minutes drive up the Mountain from San Bernardino, Riverside, and Redlands. Just three hours drive from San Diego and Las Vegas. Many old Hollywood Movies were shot here where the Village sits at about 6,500 feet with two Ski Resorts, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain that take thousands of wintertime skiers up chairlifts to about 8,400 feet. In summertime, the Lake offers Water Skiing, Kyakking, Sailing, Power Boating, Fishing, Pontooning with multiple Marina's and the ability to rent just about anything for the lake. The Mountain has hiking and biking with Snow Summit's Chairlift running all summer every day to the Top of the Mountain Barbecue in the Sky.
JazzTrax offers ticket packages with the Marina Resort where the festival is being held and at Robin Hood Resort, directly across the street. Staying at these hotels is a Summertime Ski In Ski Out Experience meaning once you've arrived no more driving is necessary for the entire weekend. Walk into the concerts or walk into the Village of Big Bear Lake for Restaurants and Shops. JazzTrax also offers ticket packages for Condo's and Cabins with Boulder Creek Resort. The Mountains are famous for sunny 75 to 80 degree days while sitting in shorts and shirt sleeves at the festival, matched to cozy cuddly fireplace summer nights because of the altitude.
Big Bear Lake sits well above the Southern California coastal 'June Gloom'. Every Summer day in Big Bear is usually sunny and hot. Nights clear and cuddly cool. The Village and surrounding lake have multitude of shops, antique shops, restaurants and cafes. With the option of going up the Snow Summit Chairlift to look over the Top of the World and delight in a summertime Top of the Mountain Barbecue. Big Bear also now has a Zip Line and two Movie Theaters. But the JazzTrax Festival is now for the first time being held right on the lake's edge. It opens with a Friday Night Cocktail Party inside the brand new lakeside venue. 6:30 to 8:00. Followed by the weekend's first JazzTrax AfterParty. No charge to get into Nottingham's Upstairs where a live contemporary jazz band will be performing deep into the evening.
The Concerts will be held 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on the Lakeside Lawn at the Marina Resort. Ending each day at Sunset on the Lake. Starring Mindi Abair, Euge Groove, Alex Bugnon, Nick Colionne, Jackiem Joyner, Cindy Bradley. Saturday Night DJ Jonathan Phillips will dtrike up the After Party again, deep into the evening at Nottingham's at Robin Hood Resort. Bring a book. Relax.
